BICTE

Bachelor in Information Communication Technology and Education (BICTE) is a undergraduate program offered by Tribhuvan University under the Faculty of Education. It is a 4-year semester-based program covering a total of 138 credit hours spread over 8 semesters, including 12 credit hours for communication skills courses, 24 credit hours for academic core courses, 60 credit hours for specialization majors, 30 credit hours for For minor subjects and 9 credit hours of teaching internship/practice.

BICTE is an undergraduate degree program that introduces students to modern education systems and computer science with a focus on Information Technology, C/C++ programming, psychology, fundamentals and technology in education, and the use of information and communication technology. Java programming language, database management systems, data communication, and artificial intelligence.

Objectives:

  • To prepare students for higher studies such as postgraduate programs in education, information communication technology or other related fields.
  • To provide better and comprehensive education to the students about computer science and information technology concepts like programming, algorithms, database management system, management information system, data structure, computer graphics, cyber law, artificial intelligence and other BICT related subjects.
  • To impart theoretical knowledge to build a deep understanding and familiarize them with the practical tools and techniques used in the development of computer system software and technology.
  • To prepare successful BICT graduates to build their careers in their field of interest or BICT related field such as computer teacher at higher level, software application developer, system administrator, web programmer, database administrator, web developer, network administrator, etc.
  • To develop skilled and passionate human resources equipped with both qualitative and quantitative information technology skills for use in the development of the education sector.
  • To help students develop their intellectual and analytical abilities, decision making, leadership, analysis and implementation of plans for the overall development of the education sector using information technology ideas.
