Divisibility Test:(2 to 11)
- Divisibility of 2:
A number is divisible by 2 if its last digit or the digit in units place is 0 or even numbers(2,4,6,8).
For example, 36,256,3348,88974, etc. are divisible by 2 because each of them contain an even number in the unit place.
- Divisibility of 3:
If the sum of the digit of a number is divisible by 3 or the sum of the digit of a number is multiple of 3 then it is divisible by 3.
For example, 453= 4+5+3 is 12 and divisible by 3 But 2203=2+2+0+3 is 7 is not divisible by 3
- Divisibility of 4:
If the last two digits of a number is either 00 or divisibility by 4 then that number is divisible by 4.
For example, 4636, 600, 8628
- Divisibility of 5:
If the last digit or unit place of any number is either 0 or 5, then the number is divisible by 5.
For example, 3065, 5000, 67485, etc.
- Divisibility of 6:
If a number is divisible by both 2 and 3 or even number which is divisible by 3 then that number is divisible by 6.
For example, for 2046, The sum is 2+0+4+6=12, is divisible by 3 and 2046 is even number divisible by 3. Thus, it is divisible by 6.
- Divisibility of 7:
When the difference of two times the last digit of any number and the number formed by the remaining digits is divisible by 7, then the number is divisible by 7.
For example, 924, twice the last digit is 4x2=8 and the remaining digit is 92 and the difference between them 92-8= 84 which is divisible by 7. So, the number 924 is divisible by 7.
- Divisibility of 8:
If the last three digit of any number is 000 and divisible by 8 then that numbers are divisible by 8.
For example, 8000, 42128,63472, etc.
- Divisibility of 9:
If the sum of the digits of a number is divisible by 9 then that number is divisible by 9.
For example, 9351= 9+3+5+1=18, which is divisible by 9. So, the number 9351 is divisible by 9.
- Divisibility of 10:
If the last digit of any number is 0, then the number is divisible by 10.
For example, 56340,9000,56780, etc. are divisible by 10.
- Divisibility of 11:
If the difference between the sum of the digits at odd places and even places of any number is 0 , then the number is divisible by 11. eg. 1353, 6259, 1086415, etc.
For example, 156783 1+6+8=15 digits at odd place and 5+7+3=15 sum of digits at even place. And their difference is 15-15=0. So, 156783 is divisible by 11.
